(BCI), a well:established multi:media and newspaper organization, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative (Flexible FT/PT) for its Hi:Desert Publishing Company, Inc./Big Bear Grizzly division, which is located in Big Bear Lake, California. Hi:Desert Publishing Company, Inc./Big Bear Grizzly division, a multimedia company based in Big Bear Lake, California, is seeking an experienced OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE that will have key responsibilities that include: to recognize changes and opportunities in the marketplace and recommend to current clients and prospective businesses the best course of marketing for them; to take a proactive approach for revenue growth in retail, preprint, classified, online, niche products and magazines that are offered by Hi:Desert Publishing Company, Inc./Big Bear Grizzly division; and to consult with existing and new advertising customers and translate their business objectives into successful advertising programs. Must be out of the office the majority of the day.
In addition, the employee is expected to speak well of the company; communicate with peers and supervisors in a respectful and professional manner; and exhibit mature behavior in dealing with ambiguous situations. Some of the duties include:
* Meet or exceed monthly revenue goals as established by sales manager.
* Utilize sales support and other internal resources to increase time in the field.
* Develops and pursues leads in order to develop new business from non:advertisers and /or customers using competitive media.
* Manage and develop existing accounts to maximize their advertising exposure.
* Know general operating procedures and policies of the News:Times as they pertain to the advertising department.
* Demonstrate aggressive and effective work habits: sustain positive attitudes and goals while encouraging other team members to do the same.
* Work with production department to find positive approaches to improved efficiency and error reduction.
* Work within the guidelines of the credit department to manage assigned accounts applications, billing, and payments of placed advertising to keep write:offs to a minimum.
* Provide accurate information: copy, run dates, rate quotes contact info to the client to maximize time for sales efforts, and to minimize credits.
* Provide exceptional customer service by ascertaining clients marketing needs, strategies and procedures.
* Makes effective sales presentations to advertisers, showing how the features and benefits of the publication can better serve their needs. Presentations can range from a one:on:one informal daily sales call, to a formal presentation to specific groups.
* Must adhere to all deadlines for newspapers, online, niche products and magazines.
* Advises and sells appropriate customers into other publications in group (cluster) for maximum market penetration and increased advertising response.
* Spends at least 51 of each working day in front of customers, utilizing a consultative sales approach to build solid client rapport.
*Effectively sells through good communication skills, willingness to listen and sensitivity to customer needs.
* Attends and actively participates in scheduled sales meetings to stay abreast of sales information, trends and policies.
*Contributes current account activity information and other related data as requested.
*Develops individual sales skills and abilities through reading of appropriate material, studying, practicing and attending selected away:from:office training seminars or sessions.
